For the modern Christian families (or church groups) who want to experience deep worship of Jesus through Passover, but have no idea where to start. Use this hosting guide year after year for an evening of remembering God’s trustworthiness and the beauty of Christian Communion around a table with friends and family. This is sure to become one of your favorite evenings of the year!
This guide also makes a great housewarming, newlywed, or new roommate gifts! Every purchase made goes to support more guides like this for more evenings of remembering how God was trustworthy before and believing He is still trustworthy today.
Biblical Feasts + More
Time never stops. And it’s very easy to get busy. That busy-ness starts out as fun, but it can quickly become too much. Until eventually it becomes our master. And we already know God said we can’t serve two masters.
Our busyness as a family produced an even more dreadful thing in our lives: forgetfulness. Specifically it taught us to forget who is Lord of our lives. When you get caught up controlling everything you start to forget who is actually in control. As a family we noticed the calendar gave us something we desperately needed: interruption.
To interrupt this busyness and combat our forgetfulness, God created holidays. There are seven biblical holidays that unfortunately have not made a frequent occurrence in the western Christian holiday calendar. These holidays are:
Passover (Crucifixion)
Feast of Unleavened Bread
Feast of First Fruits (Resurrection Sunday)
Festival of Weeks (Pentecost)
Feast of Trumpets
Day of Atonement
Festival of Booths
What if Christians started knowing the intimacy of God’s holidays with the perspective of God himself inside us. These holidays are our faith heritage. When we celebrate these holidays with the Holy Spirit, we believe He can unlock deep intimacy, deep bonding, and rememberance. These holidays will shape the other days of the year into something radically different than the way we live now.
Interested in celebrating Passover this year? Excited about learning how to bond with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost? Stick around here for resources as they become available! Or better yet, join our teams as they explore, research, design, and pray through biblical feast holiday guides for the Christian family. Reach out or check back later!
The Pentecost Project—
We celebrate a few things in our Christian holiday calendar that are important:
But then the western Christian celebrations go almost silent on the next massive historically alternating moment: when God fused himself with humanity.
The Spirit of Jesus, God’s spirit, God’s presence, aka the Holy Spirit put himself inside followers of Jesus. Jesus’ spirit came to live in them for the rest of their lives.
This was God’s plan since the garden: to bind Himself with humanity.
And we’re barely talking about.
I wonder what would happen if a generation of followers of Jesus grew up knowing, celebrating, bonding with the Holy Spirit intimately because their families prioritized introducing Him to their kids.
It’s almost like the Enemy doesn’t want this…
It’s almost like the Enemy would rather us celebrate make-believe characters than God himself…
It’s almost like the Enemy knows Christians connected intimately with God’s love, goodness, and power would change the world…
A team is forming to learn how to celebrate the day God’s Spirit bound Himself with us and to equip other families to celebrate Pentecost so that a generation of believers bonds with the Holy Spirit and lives with His power guiding them daily to bring more of Heaven to Earth.
A team of creatives and prayer warriors are currently working on this project and will make it available to you as soon as possible. DM @carlyraybowden if you feel a special calling to aid in this project.
